LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD TO MARTIN 'MARTY' KOVE
Martin 'Marty' Kove, Bayside Queens native and graduate of Martin Van Buren HS, has been chosen to receive the QIFF 2009 Lifetime Achievement Award in Film. Martin's acting career has a rich and eclectic tapestry that includes performances in more than 70 movies including 'The Karate Kid 1,2,3, Wyatt Earp, Rambo, Capone and Cop and Robbers. His TV credits are even more numerous. They include the mini-series Captains and Kings and he has also appeared in almost 200 TV movies and series episodes. His work off-screen is highlighted by a anti-bully educational campaign that he pursues with the genuine heart of making a difference in the lives of young people. Biography

WORLD PREMIERE: CARPET RACERS
Michael Rooney, Executive Producer and Jay Thames, Director, will be premiering their movie "CARPET RACERS" Friday night the 13th, 8PM at the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts - Tony Bennett Concert Hall. The premiere will be followed by a red carpet after-party at ISLAND RESTAURANT (right across the street from the Tony Bennett Concert Hall) with live music. - Tickets are $15 for both screening and party. Part of ticket proceeds goes to a NYC Firefighters Families Fund.
